Dr. Swinton is passionate about helping people believe in themselves and find satisfaction with who they are. Though he does not provide direct client services at Mount Juneau Counseling & Recovery, he provides high-level oversight for its growing programs. As a Board Approved Supervisor by both the Alaska Board of Professional Counselors and Board of Marital and Family Therapy, he provides clinical supervision to masters-level clinicians working toward licensure.
As a licensed marital and family therapist and certified medical family therapist, He has special interest in working with families faced with relationship implications from substance use, mental health, and life transitions. He is also an advocate for collaborative care between mental health and medical practitioners. As a solution-focused and emotionally focused therapist, he works to help people find solutions that are within their grasp while helping them process through the emotions they experience along the way.
