I was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. I am Tlingit, and proud that I was able to have the Tlingit language and cultural values incorporated into my early education. It has been so moving to see the culture be incorporated into the community.
I moved to Washington in 2013 to play volleyball for a small college. From there I moved to Durango, Colorado to complete my undergraduate education. I graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in business management. I returned to Juneau after graduating, but didn’t come back to the mental health field until 2020, when I started as a case manager. I am currently working on my master’s in clinical mental health counseling, and the end is in sight! After the degree is complete, I plan to remain in Alaska to continue working as a clinician. Some of my favorite hobbies include paddle boarding, hiking, and traveling. I love to experience other cultures, and of course try the food!
